An 83-year-old man, identified as John Gula, was arrested after stabbing the administrator of a senior housing complex in Miami Beach, according to police reports and local media.

Surveillance video shows Gula arguing with the victim in a hallway while accompanied by his partner. Suddenly, he pulls out a folding knife and stabs the administrator, who tries to defend himself and wrestle the weapon away, leaving a trail of blood on the floor.
The Motive: A Failed Inspection
According to the arrest report cited by NBC Miami, the administrator had approached John Gula regarding a failed inspection, which triggered the altercation.
Gula also attempted to pull out another knife but was stopped by his partner, preventing the situation from becoming even more tragic.
Charges and Victim’s Condition
According to CBS News Miami, the incident occurred on September 19.
The victim, who suffered a wound to the torso and a cut to the head, is already at home recovering.
John Gula faces charges of second-degree attempted murder.
